THE HISTORY OF THE HOTEL AMBASSADOR & SPA
The history of the ambassador hotel & spa goes back a long way. In 1890, the hotel was opened under the name “Hotel St. Peter” with only 30 rooms where the ambassador hotel & spa stands today. It was therefore the hotel closest to the sea.
In 1927 there was the third change of ownership. The house was renamed “Kurhaus” and additionally included the dependencies “Martje Flohrs” and the “Hotel Fernsicht”. Some renovations were made in the 1950s and in 1976 it was completely demolished except for the side wing. The hotel was then reopened under a new owner with 89 rooms under the name “Kurhotel”.
From 1985 the hotel was owned by the Sroka family for almost 30 years. Since September 2013, the family Dr. Lohbeck is pleased to hold the ambassador hotel & spa in your possession. True to the motto:
“The average gives the world its existence – the extraordinary its value”.
(Oskar Wilde)
Since July 2020, the newly built, fully air-conditioned beach wing has an additional 34 rooms, including 29 double rooms, one junior suite and four suites (two of which have their own whirlpool on the balcony).
