St. Peter-Ording, one of the largest seaside resorts on the North Sea coast, is located on the western edge of the Eiderstedt peninsula (North Frisia) and is partly located in the Schleswig-Holstein Wadden Sea National Park and Biosphere Reserve. Characteristic for St. Peter-Ording are the 12-kilometer-long beach, the unique dune landscape, the salt marshes and the pine forest that was subsequently planted about 100 years ago.
